The health informatics accreditor of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Master of Science in Health Informatics degree has been affirmed through 2029. As a result of meeting the Healthcare Information and Management System Society’s (HIMSS) rigorous standards for health IT education, USF Health has been named a HIMSS Approved Education Partner (AEP). Their efforts led to USF Health moving up significantly in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings for Best Medical Schools in Research. The school also is the top-ranked medical school in Florida for research, and one of only 16 medical schools nationally and the only one in Florida to receive a Tier 1 ranking, the highest designation by U.S. News & World Report.
