The mission of the M.S.H.I. Healthcare Analytics concentration is to train a cadre of individuals who are concerned with the analysis and utilization of large databases of healthcare-related information that are relevant to the continued expansion and development of diverse healthcare organizations.
The M.S.H.I. Healthcare Analytics concentration’s goals are aligned with the following program outcomes:
Outcome 1: Students in the concentration will develop a deep understanding of areas of medical and healthcare informatics which require greater knowledge than delivered in most information technology-based specialties. For example, these include the subject area of health data management, health data visualization, medical database mining and predictive analytics, health outcomes research and statistical analysis for healthcare analytics.
Outcome 2: Students in the program will develop advanced skills in the application of management information techniques to exploit the
opportunities presented by the “mining” and evaluation of emerging healthcare information resources in the healthcare sector.
