In today’s healthcare landscape, organizations face mounting financial and staffing pressures, making the effective use of data essential to optimize staff workflow and organizational efficiency. However, device data often remains an underutilized asset.

This session will explore the current state of the industry and how digital solutions can unlock clinical insights, leading to better analytics that reduce the burden on nurses and other clinical providers who face time constraints and information overload. The presenters will discuss integrating medical devices and other sources of operational and clinical data, highlighting both pitfalls and opportunities. By combining robust data with advanced custom analytics, staff can better understand risks, manage complex patients and improve care delivery. These advanced analytics also support executives in increasing clinical team satisfaction and maintaining organizational health.

2. Data Justice: Ethical Practices for Equitable Health

Data bias can impede progress toward equitable outcomes, affecting how data is collected, analyzed, interpreted and distributed. To overcome this challenge, it is essential to adopt a justice, equity and ethical approach to data collection and analysis.

This panel discussion will explore how operationalizing data justice can help drive better decision-making toward more equitable outcomes. The session will feature representatives from major health systems and ecosystem providers sharing their direct experiences and evolving thought leadership on advancing equity as a core aspect of an organization’s mission.

3. Predictive Analytics: Make Accurate Patient Flow Decisions & Reduce Length of Stay

Time: Wednesday, April 19, 10:15am – 10:35am (CT)
Location: North Building, Level 3 | Hall B | Booth 6009-6034 | Innovation Hub

Discover how hospitals are tackling capacity, length of stay (LOS), and nursing shortages with the help of data, predictive analytics, digital twins and what-if scenarios. In this session, you will hear from industry experts on how these innovative technologies are empowering hospital administrators and nurses to be proactive in managing operational challenges.

Real-world examples will showcase how technology is helping healthcare organizations achieve operational excellence and drive better patient outcomes. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the latest trends and best practices in healthcare data analytics.

4. Reducing Clinician Burnout Through Clinical Decision Support That Actually Helps

Time: Thursday, April 20, 1:00pm – 2:00pm (CT)
Location: South Building, Level 5 | S503
Event Page

Attend a session on how Community Health Network (CHN) tackled the issue of alert fatigue with clinical decision support (CDS) alerts. Despite being important for patient safety, CDS alerts can cause frustration for clinicians. In 2017, CHN began optimizing their CDS rules and was able to retire and modify alerts, reducing unnecessary alerts by 12 million per year. However, they still faced 18 million alerts with low acceptance rates.

To tackle this, CHN conducted a deeper analysis of their CDS rules using an analytics tool to tailor alerts to be more patient-specific. As a result, they reduced annual alert volume by more than 20 million since 2017 and increased clinician acceptance of alerts by 33%.

Attendees will learn how CHN delivered meaningful and actionable alerts to protect patient safety, improve outcomes, decrease alert fatigue, and enhance the clinician experience.

5. AI and ML: Accelerate Health Innovation

Time: Thursday, April 20, 1:00pm – 2:00pm (CT)
Location: South Building, Level 4 | S403
Event Page

Experience an engaging panel discussion on the latest applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in the healthcare industry. Panelists will discuss real-world examples of how these technologies are being used to enhance patient care, support providers and improve the performance of federal health missions.

Discover how these advanced tools are shaping the future of healthcare, driving critical health agency missions, and enabling life-saving programs. Don’t miss this opportunity to stay up to date on the cutting-edge developments in AI and ML that are transforming the healthcare landscape.
